I was talking to a friend the other day and sharing some news and just having a good conversation. When she said to me I appreciate you letting me know about the good things going on in your life and asking how I'm doing. I told her I always like to stop by and talk to you because you are so nice and you always have a smile on your face.
She said to me, I always smile because you smile at me first.
I walked away thinking to myself, It doesn't take much effort to smile, but I never realized someone actually saw it and that made me happy, so I smiled!:)

This is a very well written book about a young military wife's trials along with good times while being young, married, and in the military. I thoroughly enjoyed her stories about living in Hawaii, and Georgia. Especially of her killing a huge sugar spider in Georgia, and about some amazing miracles God worked in her life!!!
Must read!!! :-)
5.0 out of 5 stars Military,Married, Moving and Maturity!, December 15, 2013

If you are a woman who has fallen in love with a member of the Armed Forces you will have a lot to think about if you receive a marriage proposal, however author Tanya McDaniel intentionally and intricately shares her true feelings along the way. She has taken those steps and shares this freedom before you take those steps. The pros and cons of marrying a man who is in the military comes through the pages of her writing. The author, Tanya McDaniel depicts this new life that you are about to enter is not always glamorous, as film depictions would have you believe, but it takes work and communication, going through moves, living on the base and having some freedoms the author gained maturity in the selfless act of marriage. It is a must read for all women.

I was having some pain in my knee a few months ago. I had surgery on that knee years ago and every so often i would get some aches in that knee. Well, this pain was enough to send me to the doctor. He took some xrays and looked at my knee, twisted it back and forth which made it hurt worse, then he said I can give you something to ease the pain and lower the inflammation. I'm thinking pills or a heat pack. He says something to his assistant and he brings over to the table I'm laying on a large needle. The doctor tells me to hold still this is a steroid shot which will take away the pain and the inflammation in your knee. Ok, if he had told me before that to get the relief I needed in my knee, I would have to get an extra large needle injected into my kneecap! I don't know if I would go through with it.
But that's how we recieve most of the blessings in our life. We have to go through some pain and endure it to come through it and receive the wonderful blessings God has for us. I believe we all are strong enough to go through the pain, we just have to remember God doesn't put more on us than we can bear and he will always be with us every step of the way to reach the other side and recieve the benefits.

When you are forced to sit around and wait, during that time your patience can really be tested. You want to do the millions of things that are running through your mind but you can't because you have to sit and wait. Some people may feel like time is dragging by slowly just to torture them. Or, others may feel like time is flying by at top speed and they have no choice but to sit by and wait.
I think that when I'm in a situation where I have to sit still and wait, my patience with my time management is being tested. I believe this is a chance for me to see will I use this time wisely, will I use the time to complain about having to sit around wasting time or will i use this time to reflect on the positive things going on around me and use this "waiting time" to think about my blessings and rest in the fact that I am blessed to have this time to relax and unstress from the daily duties of life.
To me, waiting builds patience and time is the reward. It's your choice to use that time to your advantage.

Sometimes when I feel like things or situations are not going the way I want. I want to get frustratated or impatient or maybe think give it a rest because it's not working out. Then I think, maybe God is holding off with the bigger blessings because he wants to see how well you are handling the smaller day-to-day ones. How will you handle a bigger, better home/car/career/relationship/finances when you are not taking care of the not so big home/car/career/relationship/finances you have now. Can he trust you with bigger later when you're not thankful for smaller right now?
My Thoughts: when I get these feelings(sometimes), I reflect on Galatians 6:9:
"and let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."

The other day, I was rushing around , trying to get ready for work. So part of my morning routine was to put on body lotion after my morning shower. So I went to my "supply" bag of extra shower gels, hand sanitizers etc.... I reached in and pulled out a bottle and started rubbing it on me and thinking, man this lotion is extra thick and taking more effort to smooth into my skin. This morning, I looked at the bottle and was surprised to see that the bottle I thought was lotion yesterday was really creamy body wash! After that all I could do was laugh and think Lord I thank you for giving me the wisdom to really pay attention to the bottle and not make the same mistake again today.
some times as we go about our day we are to busy to stop and really listen to God and ask him for wisdom and understanding. Proverbs 11:2 says, When pride comes then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom. We don't always know everything but he does.
